Deicide: Deicide: De'i*cide, n. [L. deicida a deicide (in sense 2); deus god + c[ae]dere to cut, kill: cf. F. d['e]icide.] 1. The act of killing a being of a divine nature; particularly, the crucifixion of Jesus Christ. [R.]Earth profaned, yet blessed, with deicide. --Prior. 2. One concerned in putting Christ to death. rnIn the early days of the band, and apparently to show how much he despises Christianity, Glen Benton branded an inverted cross into his forehead using nothing but a flaming coat hanger. After seven times embedding a red hot inverted cross into his skin, it has scarred into its shape.
Suffocation: Suffocation are widely considered major innovators of death metal; they had a massive influence on the genre and pioneered a balance between brutal and technical sounds commonly heard in modern death metal.rn
BROKEN HOPE: Notable for being the first death metal band to record a full-length album (Swamped in Gore) in digital from start to finish. Ryan Stanek was kicked out of the band for selling band merchandise to fans but never having sent out any of the purchased merchandise (while keeping the money sent by the fans to himself). Scott Creekmore was also the live vocalist for shows after Joe Ptacek left the group in 1999.rnReunited in 2012.
The Absence: The Absence, throughout three releases for Metal Blade Records and several years of touring in support, have been carried by an enormous swell of ups and downs in the extreme. Those who remain to begin the next stage of this voyage have grown stronger both as a group, and individuals as they have ridden the ebb and flow. There is a new dawn on the horizon for The Absence, a chance to head in new directions with fresh philosophies, music, and a renewed commitment to cause a blinding wake that will cut through the storm, which threatens to capsize even the bravest of ships. rn
DISGORGE: Split up in 2006, although the announcement was never officially made. They reunited with Ricky Myers contacting Diego Sanchez about the reformation.

Deicide: Known the world over as one of the founding fathers of Death Metal, Deicide stand strong to this day as one of the most influential and controversial metal bands ever. With a relentlessly brutal sound and uncompromisingly blasphemous lyrics, Deicide helped set the standards for Death Metal well over a decade ago and have maintained those standards ever since. DEICIDE’s appearance and live antics matched the extremity of their music and lyrics. With an inverted cross branded into his forehead, Benton cast himself as the incarnation of pure evil. At shows, he was known to pull such stunts as dousing the crowds with bags full of real animal organs. DEICIDE quickly found themselves banned from clubs, boycotted by magazines, and blacklisted by Christian groups and animal-rights activists. Anti-establishment to the core, DEICIDE embodied the worst fears of the conservative masses, and loved it. Rather than shy away from controversy, DEICIDE provoked it and willingly engaged in it. DEICIDE stormed ahead into the future, releasing numerous albums engulfed by waves of controversy, as their popularity continued to ferment within the scene. However, it was the 2006 release “The Stench of Redemption†that put the band back on the map as the leaders of the genre. This was their first album to showcase the more melodic leads of guitarists Owen and Santolla which only added to their riotous and enigmatic success.
Alustrium: Alustrium is a five-piece death metal band from the suburbs of Philadelphia, PA. Originally formed in June of 2008, The band was originally known as Altered Image and included guitarists Chris Kelly and Mike DeMaria, bassist Brett Leftwich, drummer Joe Coates, and vocalist Greg Bono. As Altered Image began to make its impression on the local scene, the band received news that their beloved frontman, Greg had passed away. However, after weeks of grieving the loss of Greg, the band was soon joined by vocalist Jerry Martin, an event that soon signaled the need for a new name. Shortly after the name change drummer evan Berger joined the band. This lineup would continue on as they made their journey into the bright future ahead of them. Since then, Alustrium has shared the stage with numerous metal acts such as The Faceless, Suffocation, Fleshgod Apocalypse, and Decrepit Birth, and has recently signed to Toil Records. Their debut album, An Absence of Clarity drops in June of 2011.

Jungle Rot: The Midwest based quartet JUNGLE ROT have garnered a large and loyal following within the last 10 years due in large part to having a style more similar to acts such as Slayer and Sodom, rather than the typical Cannibal Corpse and Suffocation rip-offs that the underground extreme music scene is so oversaturated with. The sound and attitude that JUNGLE ROT have exposed the public to is one of efficiency and execution. JUNGLE ROT have never tried to be the goriest or most technical band in the extreme underground, but instead have focused on flowing grooves and infectious, catchy songwriting. rn
Abigail Williams: American black metal band, originally from Phoenix, Arizona, but now based in Los Angeles. Formed in 2004, the group would suffer constant changes to their line-up. Shortly after an eight-week tour in support of In the Shadow of a Thousand Suns, vocalist Ken Sorceron would become the only original member remaining.
Lecherous Nocturne: Since their debut in 1997, Lecherous Nocturne have established themselves as a force to be reckoned with in the Southeastern metal scene, landing a deal with Unique Leader Records on the strength of their self-titled EP and their desire to expand the already-extreme boundaries of thrash, black, and death metal. Powered by the dense, interlocking riffs of guitarists Kreishloff and Ethan Lane,Lecherous Nocturne strips their metal right down to the bloody bones.rnrnExtravagant luxuries like mid tempo breaks hi-tech studio shenanigans conventional song structures and even guitar solos are all unnecessary in Lecherous Nocturnes world: their music is an unrelenting firestorm of grinding double-picked guitars, Alex Lancias powerful machine-gun drumming, and massive low-end rumble courtesy of bassist James O'Neal, the intensity here is way over-the-top, the bands fury is super-concentrated and highly disciplined bursts of bile.rnrnTheir recently released full-length album The Age Of Miracles Has Passed delivers a killing stroke and then slips away before you even have a chance to brace yourself. Lecherous Nocturne are poised to take the Metal world by storm, This release promises to be one of the most original, abrasive, and unforgiving Metal albums ever recorded, with Lecherous Nocturne being a name that calls to the higher ranks of Extreme Metal for some time to come...rn
